Stylish and contemporary, tartan features in wool coats, trench coats, capes, dresses knitwear and shorts in a subtle re-imagination of Barbour’s tartan sett bringing together a collection to celebrate a modern classic.
From the very origins of the company, tartan has played an important part in Barbour’s family history. Founder John Barbour was a Scotsman, and after moving across the border to South Shields to open his first Barbour shop in 1894, he never forgot his Scottish roots. Throughout the years, Barbour used a selection of tartans as the linings to the growing collection of wax cotton jackets.
This season, Barbour’s original and authentic tartan is celebrated by introducing a new version of Winter Tartan in women’s Autumn/Winter 2015 collection. Stylish and sophisticated, the women’s Winter Tartan range sees sumptuous tones of black, cream, beige and rose used across a selection of wool coats, trench coats, capes, dresses, knitwear and accessories.
The Winter tartan collection sees a more refined, sophisticated collection taking nature and the environment as its inspiration. Blacks, creams and beige are the dominant colours, highlighted by autumnal roses.
