After a few sunny and warm months, we have to admit that summer is now well and truly over. Not to worry, we have you covered with a great selection of jackets for both men and women from our Autumn/Winter '16 deliveries. Below is a taste of some of the best winter warmers we have to offer, from brands such as Barbour, Jack Murphy and Aigle. Whether you are looking to wrap up in a big quilted jacket, keep it casual in a layered up wax piece or smarten up with a spectacular tweed coat, there is something here to see you through until the sun appears once again.
First up is this lightweight quilted number from Aigle. A short, jacket with a beautifully crafted tailored fit, the Jelfleece can be adapted to both casual and smarter outifts. The diamond quilted torso with fleece sleeves and side panels help this jacket retain both heat and its fashionable silhouette. The stand up collar will prove useful on colder days while the button closure is in keeping with the clean design of this top layer. Ideally layered up with thin knitwear underneath, this jacket is versatile and highly practical.
Here's another jacket featuring a combination of materials to create a great looking piece. The Cameron from Jack Murphy features diamond quilted sleeves and a super herringbone tweed torso, giving you the best of both worlds. The bright contrast lining offers a pop of colour whilst also offering and extra layer of warmth. The faux fur collar is soft and also detachable whilst the asymmetric zip hints at a strong biker jacket influence. A great modern take on a classic tweed jacket.
If there is something that Barbour have become renowned for it is their wax jackets. The Straiton is based on the classic Beadnell jacket featuring a winter tartan lining to the inner and a waxed cotton outer. The large stud-close front pockets are ideal for storing the essentials when on the move or keeping your hands warm when it gets a little chilly. The slight tapering at the waist gives this jacket a great shape too. It can be styled just as easily with trousers and leggings as it can with denim offering a great level of versaility to match the excellent style.
For gents, we have this excellent jacket from Jack Murphy to start us off. The Bill is a thick, diamond quilted coat with full zip and button closure to the front. Nice details, such as the moleskin highlights and check fleece lining finish a superbly crafted autumn garment. Ideal for the great outdoors and town alike, the Bill Jacket is an exceptionally warm and versatile offering. Available in this olive-brown colour called weather for ducks, you'll be hard pushed to find a quilted jacket of this quality and value.
As tweed jackets go, this one is hard to top. The Stranraer is an excellently tailored navy herringbone jacket that we love. Equally well suited to jeans as it is to formal trousers, it pairs well with checked shirts as can be seen from the picture above. Complete with four button cuffs and angled pockets there are no shortage of classy details to admire. A fully lined finish completes the Stranraer, an investment that can be worn year round.
When you need a jacket that will stand up to the elements, the Corbridge is a great choice. Made from Barbour's signature waxed cotton with a hood tucked away in the collar when you need it, the rain doesn't stand a chance. Effortlessly stylish and very much practical, the Corbridge features a funnel collar lined with corduroy and lightweight quilted lining to the inside. Subtle Barbour branding can be seen to the front pocket and the reverse which are a nice touch without taking anything away from the design. The full zip and button closure to the front will keep you warm and dry while the array of pockets make carrying the essentials easy. An excellent jacket that can be worn with just about anything.
